I dealt with Joe and Rick (hope I got your name right!). Firstly, this was my first experience getting maintenance done in the bay area. So I was ready for some sticker shock. I had rear pads and rotors + oil change. I was advised very well about what needed to be done, and what was recommended. I requested a few extra services be skipped and Dorso's obliged without complaint. So the sales approach is low pressure and friendly. My only complaint was that I wasn't offered anything other than OEM or preferred parts. "Back home" many shops will offer cheaper (new) parts with your approval and if you waive a warranty on the service. I was NOT offered this and as a result the total was very pricey. Lastly, I was entirely pleased with the professionalism. All removed parts were kept and shown to me. Everyone was very friendly. No one got upset when I refused additional services. And future service recommendations (and where to get them) were provided. Dorso's seems like a great first stop for your auto service. In the future I might comparison price shop a bit before plunking down a ton of money for something I used to be able to do in my own driveway for 1/10th the cost. But perhaps that's just the way things are in the Bay Area... And since I can't service my own cars anymore, maybe I need to adjust my expectations.
